Written by Kiriakos Haritos, illustrated by Vassilis Koutsogiannis, translated by Constantina Mavrou
In a large golden cage, protected by a loving mother, lives a little boy made of silk. He is shy and delicate, just like the fabric from which he is woven. But out there, the world awaits him, and a great celebration beckons him loudly. The little boy finds the courage to go out, but his encounter with the outside world turns out to be a clash: the silk he is made of attracts rough hands that tear, break and fray him. Yet what the world takes away, it is also able to give: gentle fingers mend the broken threads and stitch up the wounds with a stronger fibre; silk and cotton now coexist, and it is through this transformation that the child rediscovers himself.
A picture book about the courage to leave the nest and open up to the world
