Dreams and hopes for the future reading “Can I Have a Tiger?”

And you, what do you think the future of our planet will be like?

We discussed this with the pupils at the Edmondo De Amicis Primary School in Pontecurone (AL) during a meeting held at the local library.

In an interview, we gathered their dreams and hopes regarding the protection of the environment and animals, and we reflected together on what needs to be done to make our planet a better and more liveable place.

Some of the answers are innocent, others amusing, and others disarming. We’ve picked out a few for you.

“What’s your favourite animal? What should we do to protect it?”

My favourite animal is the crocodile. We need to respect the environment and not pollute.

Roberto Martino, aged 7

Gatto, collect them and give them to people who care.

Ricki, aged 10

“What do you do every day to pollute less and look after the environment?”

If we pollute less, our lives will be better!

Mia, aged 9

I pick up the rubbish and put it in the bin.

Raffaele, aged 9

“What do you hope the future will be like?”

That we’ll pollute less and have a cleaner world.

Carol, aged 7

Beautiful, clean and respected by everyone.
